When we started NYSNSA as a virtual organization, we realized that others around the world would be interested in the information we were sharing with our subscribers. (A subscriber is a member or non-member of NSA.)
This insight initiated the registration of NSAers globally and within a year we were touching 3 continents and 14 states. The organization obviously grew quickly and in any given week we had a new subscribers coming on board. Michigan, Virginia, Florida, the Netherlands. you name the location and the sign ups continued.
.Logistically this became difficult to control. Each name required input and work.
We new we needed a better model.
The solution was to get blocks of people to join verses one at a time. Obviously we had to have a value proposition that no group could refuse.
The first chapter that was introduced to the concept was that of the Los Angeles GLAX chapter with the then President Ed Poll. He loved the idea and wanted to submit the concept to his chapter. At his request, late at night. I drafted a letter.
(The letter is just below this section.)
The result, they joined.
And so have many others. At one point we realized we had 8 presidents of other chapters subscribing to New York State. We obviously were on to something.
Even though the letter is a little rough, and the date old, the concept still stands. We create exceptional value for everyone in our chapter and then allow the world access for almost nothing.
As the President of Washington DC said at the last NSA conference, "There is no downside. We had to sign up."
We look forward to having you as part of our chapter.
